Arpatambora is an innovative duo formed in 1995 featuring Harpist, Sanya Eng and Percussionist, Ryan Scott. The duo has been featured twice on CBC’s “Music Around Us” and in numerous recital venues across Southern Ontario and the North Eastern States. In addition to regular concertizing featuring the works of Carlos Salzedo, Debussy, Sarasate and Satie (arranged by Ryan Scott) the duo is actively commissioning new works from Canadian composers. The duo was featured with piano most recently in a performance of Dissolve by Abigail Richardson, under the direction of Gary Kulesha. The piece won top prize at the International Rostrum of Composers (under 30 category), the first Karen Kieser prize and The 2005 CMC Prairie Region Emerging Composer Competition. The performance in the Glenn Gould studio was subsequently broadcast numerous times in many countries.

In 2006 Arpatambora wishes to perform a gala concert and record all of their commissioned work including:

Dance Movements by Robin Engleman (premiered at the American harp society convention in 2000 – commissioned by Arpatambora funded by the Laidlaw foundation)

Tryptych by Abigail Richardson (premiered at the Music Garden Toronto 2003 – commissioned by Arpatambora)

Jazz Music for Harp and Percussion by Andrew Staniland (commissioned by Arpatambora)

New Work TBA by Erik Ross
